Facilitated by Ray Weekes, Chairman of The CEO Institute, the Game Changers series brings innovation leaders from business, technology, and creative industries to share their insights with aspiring Queensland entrepreneurs. This is your chance to ask how local entrepreneurs and business leaders build companies, reinvent themselves generation after generation, inspire teams, and envision success.
Our November Game Changers conversation showcases Queenslander Julieanne Alroe, a leader in the aviation and infrastructure industry.
As CEO and Managing Director, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), Julieanne was one of only a handful of women in the world to run a privatised airport. Julieanne managed the BAC through one of its most productive periods, preparing and transforming the airport for the future with a $3.8 billion infrastructure program. This included commencing work on a new runway (one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Australia); a major upgrade of the Domestic Terminal; construction of a nine-storey car park and redevelopment of the International Terminal. Julieanne broadened BAC’s partnerships across the arts and tourism industries believing the company should play a larger role outside its boundaries.
After nine years as Managing Director and CEO of BAC, Julieanne retired in June 2018 and now holds a number of board positions including Chair of Infrastructure Australia, board member of ERM Power and member of the Council of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce QLD. Additionally Julieanne is a member of the University of Queensland Senate and is the Inaugural President of the Queensland Futures Institute (QFI).
Julieanne has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland and was granted the Doctor of the Griffith University (honoris causa) in December 2016. She also is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Chief Executive Woman.
Following the event, we invite you to network with Julieanne and other business leaders on the stunning Queensland Terrace.
Can’t make it in person? The talk will be live streamed and join the conversation online using #qblhof, @slqld and @qutbusiness
